Eli Manning to Host 30th Annual Guiding Eyes for the Blind Golf Classic at Mount Kisco and Whippoorwill Clubs on June 25, 2007 - Sixteen Blind Golfers

Yorktown Heights, NY (PRWeb) March 5, 2007 -- Guiding Eyes for the Blind is pleased to welcome New York Giant quarterback Eli Manning as the new host of the 30th Annual Guiding Eyes for the Blind Golf Classic.

The Classic, started 30 years ago as a way to help fund Guiding Eyes' services to the blind and visually impaired, will be held on Monday, June 25, 2007 at both the Whippoorwill Club in Armonk, New York and Mount Kisco Country Club in Mount Kisco.

"I am honored to host the 30th Annual Guiding Eyes for the Blind Golf Classic," Manning said. "I feel a special closeness to this event as my family and the family of one of the blind golfers, Pat Browne, Jr., have been friends for many years. Now, being part of the Classic will allow me to become even more aware of the very worthwhile things this organization accomplishes."

Mr. Manning will take over as host of the Golf classic from Ken Venturi, who devoted 27 years to supporting the event and Guiding Eyes. Mr. Venturi remains as Honorary Chairman of the Classic.

On Monday, June 25, the Classic will be played at both Mount Kisco Country Club, Mount Kisco, NY and Whippoorwill Club, Armonk, NY. Participants play 18 holes of golf with an opportunity to play a few holes with blind golfers and will also have the opportunity to meet Eli Manning. On Sunday, June 24, sixteen of the top blind golfers from the United States Blind Golf Association in the U.S. and Canada compete against one another at Mount Kisco Country Club for the coveted Corcoran Cup.

The Classic is the largest fundraiser for Guiding Eyes for the Blind, one of the leading guide dog training schools in the country, and has raised over $6 million for this non-profit organization located in Yorktown Heights, NY.
