GOLF CHANNEL Hosts Online Million Dollar Bracket Challenge

Orlando, FL (PRWeb) February 15, 2007 -- The Million Dollar Bracket Challenge provides golf fans with an opportunity to compete in the first free-to-play fantasy golf game with a $1 million prize. To play, individuals need to log on at www.GolfChannel.com and select the golfer they think will win each match in the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship to be played at The Gallery at Dove Mountain, Tuscon, Ariz., on Feb. 21-25.

The Million Dollar Bracket Challenge will be pre-populated with the 64 players and exact match-ups fans will see at the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship. Individuals will need to pick the winner of each match until they have selected the winner for each round, and ultimately designated their predicted tournament winner. If an individual correctly picks each match-up then they will take home the $1 million grand prize. Should more than one individual successfully pick each match, then a system based on the total number of predicted birdies will break the tie.

Individuals may sign up now at GolfChannel.com, although the Bracket will not be available until Feb. 19. Bracket selections must be completed one hour prior to the start of WGC Accenture Match Play Championship on Feb. 21.

"We're excited to engage golfers with this free online game that is an added feature to our Fantasy Golf platform this year," said Gene Pizzolato, executive vice president, Advertising Sales & New Media, the GOLF CHANNEL. "The drama of match play competition is the element that makes this event so popular. Now, playing along with the chance to win a million dollars will only enhance the fans experience."

Based on points awarded for correct picks, players can win merchandise without picking the perfect bracket. The first place winner without picking each match will receive a Ben Hogan Big Ben C S3 Driver with the runner-up earning a Ben Hogan Big Ben Fairway wood. The third place winner will get a Ben Hogan Edge CFT Hybrid Club.

The Only Problem With All My Incredible New Golf Equipment Was The Guy Using It
That smell of new golf equipment is pure heaven. The irons are sealed in their own large plastic bags separate from the woods. And that new umbrella...smells exactly like a four foot putt for birdie the first time you open it and attach it to your new ultra-lightweight bag.
